Katlin's First Table of Content

Katlin's first shot at a table of contents.

  1. I still say that this looks too much like a menu at a restaurant. I suggest a single column instead of a double. The font really needs to change as well; something that looks Victorian.

  2. I concur with the OP that the design does have a menu feel to it. I do like the emblems for the different genres. Probably listing the works in one long list will make the page seem more like a table of contents.

I like the cartographic background, but this map is mostly of land. Perhaps an old map with a bit more ocean would link back to the Scrimshaw's connection to whales better.

  3. I see how it looks like a menu, but what are some other suggestions we could use to make the table of contents more interesting? I don't want to use the usual long list because I feel that it's so common. The design should pop, you know? But it'll definitely be changed from the "Chinese restaurant menu", haha.

I do like the idea of having more of an ocean in the background. It makes sense.

  4. well the menu set up has already been mentioned multiple times; but apart from that I like how you set it up into the different sections with the symbols. I would like to see a different font used for the header though.
